United MileagePlus members will enjoy free Wi-Fi as part of the airline’s loyalty program. Richard Nunn, United MileagePlus Chief Executive, highlighted the strategic importance of this partnership. He stated that integrating Starlink Wi-Fi will revolutionize the flying experience and unlock new partnerships and benefits for members.

Starlink, a SpaceX subsidiary, uses a network of satellites in low Earth orbit to deliver broadband internet. United describes the service as “the world’s fastest, most reliable connectivity in the sky.” While the airline has not disclosed pricing for non-members, current Wi-Fi costs $10 for non-members and $8 for members on domestic and short-haul international flights.

United is not the first airline partner for Starlink. Hawaiian Airlines offers free Starlink connections on flights between islands and international routes. Semiprivate charter firm JSX also provides free Starlink Wi-Fi on its fleet. Other airlines like JetBlue and Delta offer free Wi-Fi through different providers.

SpaceX recently launched its first Starlink satellites of 2025, expanding its network of over 6,000 satellites. Musk plans to add up to 30,000 more satellites, cementing Starlink’s role in global internet connectivity.

The partnership marks a significant step for United in enhancing passenger amenities. The airline aims to offer in-flight Wi-Fi on all flights, accessible on seat-back screens and personal devices.
